LETTERS FROM OUR AWARD WINNERS

Demitra Athena Giannaras (2007), Loyola University
...I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This scholarship could not have come at a more critical time in my life, and I pray that God blesses you always. The PanHellenic Scholarship you have granted me is truly a dream come true.

...I began applying to all the scholarships that I possibly could and immediately filed my papers for financial aid. I had been accepted to Loyola University Chicago, and I began to see my attendance to this college as the first stepping stone to my dream. Though my efforts to reduce my expenses for schooling were extensive, my financial need was still great. I was struggling, fighting my circumstance and trying to work my way toward my dream with all the strength that I could muster, but this obstacle proved too great for me to overcome.

I opened my award letter for the PanHellenic Scholarship on my 18th Birthday. It was the greatest gift I could ever have received. I had finally broken free from my financial constraints and could freely move forward toward my dream once more. I could feel the little girl inside me whoop in delight, as the greatest feeling of elation swept through me from head to toe. You made it possible for me to take the first step toward my lifelong dream and goal. Your kindness and generosity will enable me to also give back to the Greek community in the future. I thank you once again for your generous gift.
