LETTERS FROM OUR AWARD WINNERSElisabet Katerina Tassis (2008), Johns Hopkins University I am writing this letter to express my gratitude for the scholarship that has been awarded to me by you and your committee. I am so thankful and honored for the opportunities this scholarship will provide me. Not only has this scholarship helped me financially but it has given me the utmost encouragement to strive for the impossible. I also want to thank you for inviting me to the annual Gala, which I attended with my entire family. The atmosphere was incredible and the night was magical and unforgettable for me. I enjoyed meeting and talking to the many benefactors, contributors and prominent Greek American individuals who inspired me that evening. Such an event will be cherished forever. I want to express that the monetary aid was of great significance for me but more importantly the recognition you provided to me that evening made me even more proud to be a Greek American student striving for excellence. I felt so honored to be among such high caliber of Greek American intellectuals. This award and recognition made me realize more than ever before that anything is possible as long as we commit ourselves to strive for the top and how significant our Hellenic roots are to society. We, the future of tomorrow need to continue to promote our Hellenic heritage in this great nation of ours. I am very grateful and appreciative what the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation has given me, both financially and emotionally. One day I hope to become a supporter of such a great foundation in preserving Hellenism. Back |
