LETTERS FROM OUR AWARD WINNERSEleni Gouvas (2007), University of Michigan ...It was humbling to be a part of this event. To be amongst the most prominent people who support students like me, and will continue supporting students like me, was thrilling. The evening gave me extra motivation to become a leading figure in my community and make a difference in people's lives, like everyone in attendance did for me. The best part of the evening was when strangers approached me on their own accord congratulating me for my hard work. I realized that the support from these strangers is what keeps me going. They contributed not only to my monetary award and that of others like me, but they are my academic cheerleaders as I like to call them. People that I have had no contact with previously are now cheering for my success and supporting me to achieve my academic aspirations. But if it wasn't the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation, none of this would have been possible. You are the ones who put in all the time and effort into changing students' lives. Thank you for all your time. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your passion. And lastly, but certainly not least, thank you for choosing me for one of this year's scholarships. The honor is inexplicable with words. Your award will help me financially through my first year of law school and your support as prominent people in the Hellenic community, will push me to attain all my dreams and aspirations, so that one day I too can be sitting where you are sitting, helping students succeed and supporting the Hellenic American community. Hellenes will continue to be influential people in America and all over the world as long as we have people like you, supporting us and cheering us on in all of our endeavors! Back |
